Happy One Year Anniversary to our Unstreambles Series, now with a new name: ANALOG ANOMALIES! A huge thank you to our audience for showing up every month and taking a chance on something weird, wild, and questionable. To celebrate our first birthday, we are giving you a double-feature of satanic panic and droning synthesizers courtesy of our friends at the American Genre Film Archive (AGFA)! The night will begin with THE BLACK CRYSTAL (1991), a regional action oddity and vanity project from Mike Conway, who acts as lead actor, as well as writer, director, producer, editor, and composer. If you are a fan of lo-fi action, ambition that exceeds its budget, and satanic cults, this is going to be your jam! The madness then continues with SATAN WAR (1979), a regional horror riff on THE AMITYVILLE HORROR that is a total audiovisual barnburner. In between the films, we will have an intermission featuring one of the compilations from AGFA’s HEY FOLKS! IT’S THE INTERMISSION TIME VIDEO PARTY mixtape. Double the madness for the same free admission!
